5 Reasons to Choose Silicon Valley Hearing

Choosing the right professional is the most important decision in the hearing healthcare experience. For those looking for a new hearing care provider, we've put together a list of top reasons why you should consider Silicon Valley Hearing for your Audiology and hearing needs.

1. Dr. Novick is a Doctor of Audiology

Many people are not aware, but there are two different types of professionals that can treat hearing loss. Hearing aid dispensers (also called hearing instrument specialists) and Audiologists. We discuss this topic in more depth in our article on the differences between hearing aid dispensers and audiologists, but the primary difference between an audiologist and a hearing instrument specialist is that the audiologist has an advanced degree and is an expert in all aspects of hearing healthcare, including diagnostic audiological testing and the fitting of hearing devices; while the hearing instrument specialist is licensed for the purpose of dispensing hearing aids only.

In addition, there are two types of Audiologists; those with a Masters degree in Audiology and those with a doctorate (Au.D.). Patients of Silicon Valley Hearing can trust that Dr. Novick is the highest level of hearing care professional available.

2. We offer a number of services (not just hearing aids)

While we do fit hearing aids and offer the latest in hearing aid technology, Dr. Novick also treats other hearing-related conditions such as tinnitus, misophonia, hyperacusis, APD and earwax blockage. Many patients have multiple conditions; for example, hearing loss and tinnitus often go hand in hand. Offering a comprehensive range of audiological services means that our Audiologist can be a trusted source for all of your hearing healthcare needs.

3. Dr. Novick follows best practice care with hearing aid fittings

Unfortunately, only about 20% of hearing providers follow best practices in audiology, including important verification steps like Real Ear Measurement. Choosing a hearing healthcare provider that follows these best practices ensures that you will receive hearing care that includes Best Practices - leading to your best hearing in the situations and with the people that matter the most.

4. Marni has 1st hand experience with hearing loss

It was Dr. Novick's personal experience with her own hearing loss that motivated her to pursue a professional career in Audiology. Her own experience with hearing aids and other hearing-related issues gives her unique insight and empathy for her patients.

5.  Our patients love us!

We've worked hard to help our patients enhance their quality of life and communicate more effectively with their loved ones. We're thrilled that they have left us a number of positive reviews across the web. Check out some reviews of our practice!

Silicon Valley Hearing audiologists Marni Novick and Patty Tan's approach is thoughtful, thorough, compassionate and sensitive. They took the time to address my specific hearing needs and make me feel comfortable with the process. The initial visit began with a discussion of my personal goals and desired outcome for hearing improvement. Followed by a comprehensive battery of hearing tests. This was followed by more discussion of exactly what type of hearing loss was discovered and what type hearing devices could aid in improving hearing in my specific case and fit with my personal lifestyle. I then had the opportunity to demo hearing aids to see if they actually provided the benefit and functionality I was seeking, before having to make a decision to purchase any type of hearing aid. The quality of care, compassionate approach to assessing and treating hearing loss delivered by Marni and Patty garner my unreserved recommendation for for anyone who is serious about addressing and treating their hearing loss. - Bruce

It has been a while since I visited and received excellent help from Dr. Novick but there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her and am eternally grateful.  When my tinnitus first came on I was frantic, distraught, and desperate.  I literally couldn't hold my head up at times.  I started to have panic attacks and thanks to another audiologist in another office Dr. Novick was suggested to me.  I was not the most confident patient and could not even imagine coming out of this predicament intact.  I had numerous appointments with her and surprisingly through her guidance I can say I am SO MUCH BETTER!.  Looking back what I realized is that through her caring and patient ways and armed with the truth, she was able to guide me to  become the happy person that I was. Continue on you path of good and meaningful work Dr Novick!  It is indeed appreciated.
