Amazon Fire TV Cube Now Supports Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids

Want better sound quality while watching TV and wearing your hearing devices? Amazon’s Fire TV Cube (2nd gen) is here for you with Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA).
According to the company, Fire TV is “the first-ever streaming media player to support ASHA and allow customers to directly connect compatible Bluetooth hearing aids.”1 Only certain Starkey hearing aids can link to the Fire TV, but Amazon plans to expand ASHA support to more aids later this year.
Users with compatible Starkey Bluetooth® hearing aids can link up directly with Fire TV for private listening to streaming services, games, apps and Alexa and use the remote’s volume buttons to control the sound level. For best results, they should connect over a 5GHz Wi-fi network and within 10 feet of the Fire TV Cube.
The process of pairing hearing aids to Fire TV is similar to pairing Bluetooth headphones; individuals should go to Fire TV Settings, Accessibility, select Hearing Aids and follow the on-screen instructions for connecting them. When users are done listening, they can disconnect by pressing the Home button on the remote and selecting Disconnect Hearing Aids.
