How Does Lenire Work?

Lenire is based on neuromodulation, a therapeutic treatment that alters nerve activity by delivering a stimulus that adjust the body’s activity to relieve a health condition. Lenire offers bimodal neuromodulation, which stimulates two nerves simultaneously—in this case, the tongue and ear.

Your healthcare provider will help customize Lenire’s device settings for your needs and comfort. Bluetooth headphones play customized sounds to activate the brain’s auditory nerve. The Tonguetip, which sits on the roof of your mouth, uses electrodes to deliver mild energy pulses.

A handheld device controls the timing and intensity of the treatment, which you can use to adjust the volume of the sound and level of tongue stimulation.

How Do Patients Respond to Treatment?

In three clinical trials with more than 600 patients, Lenire provided relief from tinnitus. 95% of participants reported improvement of tinnitus symptoms when evaluated after 12 weeks, and 91% of participants experienced continued improvement in tinnitus severity when evaluated one year after treatment.
